Room Divide

Substantial

Having been described as not only elegant yet substantial, but also comfortable but impressive - the Dark Blues, Greys and Fawns are a far cry from the original idea of Creams and Pastels.

The heavy set robust furniture is miles away from the initial fragile and delicate lines that had first been discussed.

Thank goodness (and good design) that those ideas were shelved in favour of something that not only suits this new-build cottage but also better suits the character, tastes and lifestyle of its occupants.

This ‘L’ shaped Kitchen and Dining Room feels so very inviting and comfortable to be in that it is hard to leave!

Adding to its personality is a 3.5m long ‘island’ - the hub of the kitchen, if not the house.

A free standing chest forms a divide between Dining room and Lounge.

The addition of soft lighting, sofa, book shelves and display cabinet took the hard edge away from the room enabling it to serve as a welcoming and inviting extension of the Kitchen and was naturally decorated in the same colours and finishes.

The large bench also doubles as a Pan-Store and the Chopping Block as a Recycle Centre; and what appears to be a line of drawers is in fact the Pull-out Bin.
